First look at the LEGO 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV (and Fives minifigure!)

*Update – Orders now available on LEGO.com and Amazon!

We’ve already had confirmed news of the 18+ midi-scale Tantive IV launching in March 2024, and this upcoming hallway boarding set promises to be a welcome addition to the Tantive IV lineup!

The set brings to life the famous opening scene of Star Wars: A New Hope, where Vader and his crew of Stormtroopers break down the blast doors of Princess Leia’s ship in an attempt to find the Death Star plans. We’ve all seen it… do I really need to explain it? 😉

This new Boarding the Tantive IV set will launch on 1 March 2024 for $54.99 and feature 502 pieces, along with a very generous lineup of 7 minifigures.

However, the best part of this set might just be the addition of an included special LEGO Star Wars 25th Anniversary minifigure… but more on him later.

Set Details

Original rumors were slightly mixed on this Tantive IV boarding set, as we had heard reports of this being either an 18+ Diorama set, or an 8+ playset, in a similar vibe to the Dark Trooper Attack (Amazon) from ‘The Mandalorian’.

Lego Star Wars Dark Trooper Attack Luke Skywalker

Personally, I would prefer an 18+ Diorama version of this classic scene, as I love the aesthetic of Diorama series, but the design of the playscale Dark Trooper Attack set was practically flawless, and also doubles great as a display piece.

*Update – leaked images of the set have surfaced, and I can now confirm it is an 8+ playset:

Awesome box art this year, check out that 25th Anniversary Logo!

Love the light blue/silver artwork on the new 2024 boxes

The piece count (502) is more than triple that of the Dark Trooper attack, so we’re getting a significantly more substantial build with more detailing and functionality.

One interesting thing to point out is the multiple Technic pieces along the side of the base. To me it looks like it’s possibly intended to give the opportunity to connect multiple of these hallway sets together to create one massive boarding scene. Cool!

Included 25th Anniversary Minifigure: Fives

If you haven’t heard the news yet, LEGO Star Wars celebrates its 25th anniversary this year with a special surprise for 2024. Several exclusive minifigures will be included in various LEGO Star Wars sets throughout the year to commemorate the anniversary. Luckily for us, the Tantive IV Boarding set is one of those special sets to include these rare figures – Arc Trooper Fives!

(Curious to know who the other anniversary minfigures will be? I cover all the details of the 25th Anniversary minifigures here).

ARC Trooper Fives

If you’re not a fan of the animated TV Series, try to make some time to watch it. Trust me. (Fives’ story begins in Season 3 of the Clone Wars show)

Short version – after completing his Clone training on Kamino, Fives joined the ranks of the elite Advanced Recon Commandos as ARC-5555, before eventually joining the infamous 501st Legion with Captain Rex (peep Rex’s upcoming Microfighter!). I won’t give too many spoilers in case you haven’t seen it, but let’s just say if a few details involving Fives would have happened even slightly differently, it’s possible Order 66 wouldn’t have been the massacre that it was…
