LEGO 75386 Paz Vizsla and Moff Gideon Battle (from Mandalorian Season 3) launching June 2024

Rumors for this Mandalorian Season 3 final battle set had been circulating for a few months already, but now that the official set has been released, it’s definitely exceeded my expectations. Yes, it’s $40, BUT THE MINIFIGURES!! (more on them later)

The build on this set looks even better than I was imagining, and also includes a decent amount of play features for kids too. I think Lego really did a stellar job with this Mandalorian set. (Plus, it has a secret bonus feature that involves a different Mandalorian set…)

This set features the scene with the heavy armored blast doors from the Mandalorian season finale where Paz Vizsla sacrifices himself to let Bo Katan and the other Mandalorians escape (SPOILERS – sorry if you haven’t seen it).

The build looks great – no it’s not the biggest – but it captures the scene beautifully of the Imperial hallway with the massive blast door built into the rock formation.

As far as “play” features go, there’s a little rotating turret with two stud-shooters (a minifigure can sit in it), and also a little crate with some thermal detonators in it.

One other cool feature is a lever that closes the blast door:

If you look closely, you can see a cool easter egg with the control panel showing the Imperial Light Cruiser coming into orbit (and just about to crash-land!)

AND the rumors were true – this set will be able to connect to the 75373 Battle Pack set to create a mega Mandalorian bunker scene. Awesome! Here’s how both will look connected:

Minifigures

Impressive minifigure lineup containing:

  • 2 Praetorian Guards (with new helmet moulds)
  • Moff Gideon with his horned helmet and black armor (and extra hairpiece)
  • Paz Vizsla (RIP šŸ˜)

The Praetorian Guards and the Moff Gideon minifigures are brand new for this set, but the Paz Vizsla is pretty much identical to the one featured in the now retired Armorer’s Forge (Amazon link) from a few years back in 2021. However, Paz’s weapon is brand new. Look at this size of that thing!

My one issue about Moff Gideon is that he doesn’t come with the sweet looking double sided black/red cloth cape that he came with in the Light Cruiser (Amazon link), which would have paired nicely when displayed with the included hairpiece instead of his horned helmet. Either way, the cape isn’t compatible with his jetpack, but it would have been nice to have.

For reference, the 2021 version of Moff Gideon from the Light Cruiser. Sweet cape!
Moff Gideon with his Mandalorian armor compared to Lego minifigure
Cape aside, it’s an INCREDIBLE minifigure. The new black and red Mandalorian helmet with spikes looks spot on compared to the show. Great torso and leg printing as well!

If I had one complaint about the overall minifigure selection, it would be that there really should have been a 3rd Praetorian Guard, just like in the show. This would really have sealed the deal for a $40 set.

Overall, I’m a fan – there’s very few flaws with this set (just imagine there’s a 3rd Praetorian Guard, ha).

While $40 for 289 pieces is admittedly a little high, the detailing and figure selection more than make up for it, and I’m excited to pick this little set up in June 2024!
