New LEGO Star Wars Mechs Released! (Summer 2023)

There have been rumors for months about LEGO releasing a brand new series (for Star Wars) of buildable mechs with minifigures, and today we just got our first look at what these will look like.

Officially releasing this summer on 1 August 2023 will be a trio of buildable mechs featuring Darth Vader (link), Boba Fett (link), and a Stormtrooper (link) from the original trilogy. Each mech will come with a unique accompanying minifigure, and will stand over 4.5″ tall when assembled.

Each will retail for $15.99 with approximately 140-150 pieces each.

Darth Vader Mech (75368)

The Darth Vader Mech will include 139 pieces, with what looks like the newer minifigure version of Darth Vader (from the 2023 TIE Bomber – LEGO.com / Amazon), complete with arm printing and detailed leg printing as well. Vader’s minifigure-scale red saber will be able to clip on the back of the mech, which is a nice feature.

The mech itself looks great, though I’m surprised it has so much red in the arms. Vader’s chest plate with his life support controls on the mech is a fun feature.

Expect this on Aug 1st for $15.99.

Boba Fett Mech (75369)

Lego Star Wars Boba Fett Mech 75369

Out of the three mechs, Boba Fett is definitely my favorite. The coloring on the mech is fantastic, and really captures the look of Boba’s sand worn and scuffed up armor. Great combination of gray, sand-blue, yellow, and maroon pieces. The green Beskar chest plate on the mech also looks fantastic – hard to tell if it’s a sticker or printed, but I assume it’s a sticker. The mech also includes Boba’s infamous jetpack with the missile launcher.

However I think I’m most excited about the actual Boba Fett minifigure itself – it looks different from the past couple standard Boba minifigures from recent years, with an improved green color helmet with new scuff marks, sand-blue legs, and a more battle scarred looking Beskar torso armor print. (Reminds me of the highly coveted Boba Fett minifigure from the UCS Slave 1 and Cloud City, sans the cape…)

Expect this mech to launch on Aug 1st for $15.99, with a slightly higher piece count of 155 pieces.

Stormtrooper Mech (75370)

Last up is a Stormtrooper Mech (138 pieces), which actually looks far better than I was anticipating, especially considering the rumors.

The detailing looks great with a good mix of white, black, and light gray pieces. The stud-shooter blaster looks good in the mech’s hands, and looks to be the same general design as Boba’s. The chest plate is a large imperial logo, which isn’t really what the Stormtroopers look like, but it aligns nicely with the design of the other mechs.

LEGO Star Wars Mechs Yay or Nay?

I have a feeling these mechs will be met with mixed reactions from the LEGO Star Wars community (in lieu of Battle Packs instead), however, it’s important to remember that this lineup is specifically targeted towards kids, and is an affordable way to get classic minifigures with a fun new build style.

Overall, I’m pleasantly surprised by the build quality, variety, and detailing in the images of these and think they are a fantastic value for only $16 each.

Will you be picking this new trio of mechs up later this summer or is this an easy skip? Let me know down below what you think.

Personally, I don’t think I’ll add these to my own collection (though that new Boba figure might sway me), but I have a feeling my 7 year old will be begging for these in the summer šŸ˜‰
